Frequently Asked Questions

How often are the exchange rates updated?

Rates are refreshed once each business day (Monday to Friday) from the European Central Bank reference rates. They are not real-time tick-by-tick market rates, but they closely track the official daily mid-market reference.

Is this the same rate my bank will give me?

No. This tool shows the mid-market reference rate with no markup. Banks, card networks, and money transfer services usually add a margin or fee, so the amount you actually receive or pay may be slightly different.

Which currencies are supported?

Over 30 major world currencies are supported, including USD, EUR, GBP, JPY, CAD, AUD, CHF, and CNY. The full list loads automatically from the exchange rate provider.

Is my data sent to a server?

Only the exchange rate itself is fetched from a public rates API — your amount, currency selections, and calculations stay entirely in your browser. Nothing you type is ever uploaded, stored, or tracked.

Why is a currency missing from the list?

The tool uses European Central Bank reference rates, which cover the world's most-traded currencies but not every national currency or cryptocurrency. If a currency you need is missing, it is not currently published by the ECB.

Can I use this on weekends or holidays?

Yes, the converter still works, but it shows the most recent published rate. The European Central Bank does not publish new reference rates on weekends or on ECB holidays, so the rate shown will be from the last business day.

Is this currency converter free to use?

Yes, completely free, with no signup, no ads, and no usage limits.
