Frequently Asked Questions
Is my GIF uploaded to a server?
No. Every image you add and the final GIF are processed entirely in your browser. Nothing is ever uploaded to any server, so your photos stay completely private.
What image formats can I use?
JPG, PNG, WebP, and static GIF or BMP images all work — anything your browser can decode. You can mix formats and different aspect ratios in the same GIF; each image is automatically centered and cropped to fit the output size.
How many images can I combine?
Up to 60 images per GIF. Sequences longer than about 40 frames may use significant memory depending on your device, so a warning appears once you pass that point.
What does the Boomerang option do?
Boomerang plays your image sequence forward, then immediately back in reverse, before looping again — a smooth back-and-forth effect without having to upload any image twice.
Why is my GIF file larger than I expected?
GIF files store colors in a palette of up to 256 colors per frame and do not use inter-frame compression like modern video or image formats. For photos with many colors, the output can be much larger than the source images. Reduce width, quality, or the number of images to shrink the file.
Can I control how long each image is shown for?
The Frame Delay slider sets one timing that applies to every image in the sequence, from a quick flip-book pace to a slow slideshow. Per-image custom timing is not available yet.
