Is my photo uploaded anywhere?
No. Your photo is processed entirely on your device using JavaScript in your browser. It is never uploaded to a server, and nothing is stored or transmitted anywhere.
Does this tool remove or replace my background?
No. Passport Photo Maker only crops and resizes your photo — it does not detect or remove the background. Most passport and visa rules require a plain, light, evenly lit background, so it's best to take or choose a photo against a plain white or light-gray backdrop before cropping.
What's the difference between the single photo and the print sheet?
The single photo download gives you one cropped image at the exact target pixel size for online uploads or digital submission. The print sheet arranges multiple copies of that same photo on a larger page, such as a 4 x 6 in postcard, A4, or US Letter sheet, with thin dashed cut lines, so you can print and cut several physical copies at once — handy for kiosks or photo printers that charge per print rather than per photo.
Can I use a size that isn't in the preset list?
Yes. Choose the Custom option to enter your own width, height, and DPI in millimeters or inches, and the tool will crop to that exact size.
What DPI or resolution does it use?
300 DPI, which is the standard resolution most passport photo services and print labs expect. All preset and custom pixel dimensions in this tool are calculated at 300 DPI unless you change the DPI in Custom mode.
