What is the Pomodoro Technique?

What is the Pomodoro Technique?

The Pomodoro Technique is a time management method that breaks work into focused intervals called "pomodoros" — typically 25 minutes — separated by short breaks. After completing a set number of pomodoros you take a longer break to recharge.

Can I customize the timer durations?

Yes. You can set the focus duration (1–120 min), short break duration (1–30 min), long break duration (1–60 min), and the number of sessions before a long break (2–10). All settings are saved automatically to your browser.

Does the timer work in the background?

Yes. The browser tab title updates with the remaining time so you can see progress at a glance. An audio notification plays when a session or break ends, even if you're in another tab.

What keyboard shortcuts are available?

Space starts or pauses the current timer, R resets the current timer to its full duration, and S skips immediately to the next phase without playing a notification.

Is my data saved or tracked?

Your settings (durations, auto-start preferences, sound toggle) are saved locally in your browser via localStorage. No data is sent to any server, and there are no cookies or tracking scripts.
