All figures are gross pay — before income tax, social security, and other deductions.
How it works
Enter an amount and the pay period it's measured in, then set your work schedule: hours per day, hours per week, days per week, and any unpaid weeks off per year. The calculator works out your effective hourly rate first, then multiplies it by your schedule to show the equivalent daily, weekly, bi-weekly, semi-monthly, monthly, and annual amounts — all updating instantly as you type.
Frequently Asked Questions
Is this gross pay or take-home (net) pay?
This calculator shows gross pay — the amount before income tax, social security, pension, and other deductions. Take-home pay depends on your country, tax bracket, and personal deductions, so it isn't calculated here.
How do I convert an hourly wage to an annual salary?
Multiply your hourly wage by the hours you work per week, then by the number of paid weeks in a year (52 minus any unpaid weeks off). For example, $25/hour × 40 hours/week × 52 weeks = $52,000/year.
What's the difference between bi-weekly and semi-monthly pay?
Bi-weekly pay is issued every two weeks — 26 paychecks a year. Semi-monthly pay is issued twice a month, such as the 1st and the 15th — only 24 paychecks a year. The two are easy to confuse but produce different per-paycheck amounts even for the same annual salary.
How does unpaid time off change the numbers?
If you take unpaid weeks off, enter how many weeks in the "Unpaid weeks off per year" field. The calculator reduces your paid weeks per year accordingly, which raises the hourly-rate-equivalent of a fixed weekly or annual figure and lowers the annual total of a fixed hourly rate.
Does this account for overtime pay?
No. This calculator assumes every hour is paid at the same rate. If some of your hours are paid at an overtime premium, commonly 1.5 times your base rate, calculate that portion separately and add it to the result.
Is my data uploaded anywhere?
No. All calculations run locally in your browser using JavaScript. Nothing you enter is sent to a server, stored, or tracked.
