Is my screen recording uploaded anywhere?
No. Capturing, processing, and the download all happen locally in your browser using the getDisplayMedia and MediaRecorder APIs. Your recording is never sent to any server.
Can I record with microphone audio?
Yes. Turn on "Include microphone audio" before you start, and your browser will ask for microphone permission separately from the screen-share prompt. Both audio sources are mixed together in real time.
Can I record system or tab audio?
Turn on "Include system or tab audio" and choose "Share tab audio" (or your operating system's system-audio option) in the browser's share dialog. Support for sharing audio varies by browser and operating system, and is generally strongest when sharing a Chrome tab.
What file format do I get?
Recordings download as WebM (VP9 or VP8 video with Opus audio) on most browsers, or MP4 where WebM isn't supported. Both formats play natively in modern browsers, VLC, and most video editors.
Can I pause and resume a recording?
Yes. Use the Pause button to pause mid-recording and Resume to continue the same take without cutting it into separate files.
What happens if I click "Stop sharing" in my browser instead?
The recording finishes automatically and moves straight to the preview and download step, exactly as if you had clicked Stop on the page.
Is there a maximum recording length?
There is no fixed time limit — recording length is only limited by your device's available memory. Very long recordings produce larger files and may take a moment to finalize after you stop.
