Frequently Asked Questions

What is screen resolution?

Screen resolution is the number of pixels your display can show horizontally and vertically, such as 1920 × 1080. Higher resolutions can display more detail at once.

What is the difference between display resolution and logical resolution?

Display resolution is the estimated native pixel count of your monitor (calculated from logical resolution × device pixel ratio). Logical resolution is the scaled resolution your OS reports to the browser — it is lower when display scaling is enabled. For example, a 1920 × 1200 display at 125% scaling reports a logical resolution of about 1536 × 960.

What does device pixel ratio mean?

Device pixel ratio (DPR) compares CSS pixels to physical screen pixels. A DPR of 2 means each CSS pixel is rendered using 2 × 2 hardware pixels.

Why is my available screen size smaller than my full resolution?

Available screen size excludes space used by your operating system interface, such as the taskbar, dock, or menu bar.

Does this tool store or send my device data?

No. Everything runs locally in your browser. No data is uploaded, stored, or tracked.
